Accessing Fedora 19 Vncviewer Desktop from Windows 7

As root user, Install “tigervnc-server”, below is the command to do this.

yum -y install tigervnc-server

Now loginto user account and create .vnc directory and a script called start.sh

su james

cd

mkdir .vnc

cd .vnc

vim start.sh

enter the following text in file and save.

vncserver :10 -geometry 800×600 -depth 24

chmod +x start.sh

./start.sh (if doing first time, give a username and password)

Go go to the root user and run the folowing command.

firewall-cmd –permanent –zone=public –add-service vnc-server

or try this as root user if vnc is not connectiong. (systemctl stop firewalld.service)

Now, go to other machine windows 7 and use vncviewer client to access the machine with port 5910.
