UniFi Error: Exception in thread “launcher” java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: sun/security/x509/X500Signer

We were wroking with “UniFi build for Linux/Unix-like system” and suddently we came across this error. Exception in thread “launcher” java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: sun/security/x509/X500Signer”. I’m no java expert but I was assigned to solve this issue. So, as usual I googled to find some info but didn’t manage to find exact info.

So, I continued to research on this and found it was because of jdk1.7. I downloaded jdk1.6, installed it and found the problem resolved.

Conclusion:

I think “UniFi” package may not be tested and qualified with latest version of jdk1.7. So, if you have similar issue try migrating to previous version of java and it might work!!

So, that’s one of the real life problem I managed to solve today. I hope this post would help somebody later on in the future.
